50 WAYSTHE BOOK & THE PROJECT

BEAUTY TIPS BY ARI

Keep the book where only you can find it.

Calculator# looks and works like an ordinary calculator. Type your secret code and it opens a private folder instead.

In many controlling relationships, changing your phone’s passcode can raise suspicion or worse. A vault app gives you a private place to keep the ebook without touching your passcode.

BEFORE YOU START

A quick safety check.

  • Could your phone be monitored? If someone has your passcode, your Apple ID or Google password, or put an app on your phone, consider doing this on a different device, or talk with an advocate first at 1-800-799-7233.
  • New apps can show up. Installs appear in your App Store purchase history and in your app list, and may be visible through Family Sharing or Screen Time.
  • Use the App Store’s own search. Searching the web for the app leaves browser history.

STEP BY STEP · iPHONE

Save the ebook into Calculator#.

  1. Install Calculator#

In the App Store, search for Calculator# Hide Photos Videos. Check that the developer is NewSoftwares.net. The app is free, with optional paid upgrades.

  2. Choose your secret code

Open the app and follow its setup to create your code. Pick a number you’ll remember that isn’t your phone passcode, a birthday, or anything someone could guess. Don’t write it down where it could be found.

  3. Open the vault

Type your code into the calculator. Instead of a math answer, the app opens your private storage. (On most versions you tap = after the code.)

  4. Open the vault’s own browser

Inside the vault, open the built-in web browser. Don’t use Safari or Chrome for this step. Files downloaded there land in your regular Downloads folder and browsing history.

  5. Go to the private download page

In the vault browser’s address bar, type:

    50waysthebook.com/read

  6. Get the ebook

Tap the button on that page. If the app asks where to save the file, choose the vault. If the book opens on screen instead, use the app’s download or save button.

If there’s a price, you’ll check out first. The receipt goes to the email you enter and the charge shows on your statement, so think about who can see those.

  7. Read it inside the vault

Whenever you want to read, open the calculator, enter your code, and open the book from your vault files. When you close the app, it goes back to being a calculator.

Button names can differ between app versions. If something looks different on your phone, look for the browser or download option inside the vault.

AFTERWARD

If you found this page in your regular browser.

Consider closing these tabs. Clearing your history can also draw attention if your history is normally full, so think about what’s usual for your phone.

The Hotline’s internet-safety guidance

A vault lowers the chance someone stumbles on the book. It doesn’t guarantee it.

App lists, purchase history, backups, Screen Time reports and monitoring software can still reveal activity. Calculator# is a third-party app; this guide isn’t a security endorsement.
